Keeping with the ‘Three Worlds/One Country marketing theme, Tropical Islands, Rain Forest, Ancient Mayan Culture/ruins), Honduras has had for many years now the county has approved the construction of a new small airport near Copan Ruinas, where the Mayan civilizations ruins are located in Honduras.
The ruins are noted as the best preserved of the Mayan world attracts tourism from around the world. With this new airport, (and the one right across the border of the country in Guatemala until completion of the newly announced Honduran location), people will be able to travel for day trips from Roatan while you are visiting the island on vacation or as a stop on your visiting cruise ship.
From what I am understanding at this point in time both SOSA and CM Airlines will be offering this service. More information here………..
