Alcoholics Anonymous 
AA has regular meetings on Roatan every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. You can join them on Saturdays and Thursdays (12:30 pm and 6:30 pm at Sand Castle Library in Sandy Bay) or Tuesday (7 pm in Mt. Pleasant at the RE/MAX Office in Jackson Plaza). Electrical Work

Roatan Wine Room 
The Roatan Wine Room is a retail wine shop, tasting room, and wine club that opened in April 2018 by Lauren Schneidewind. The wine room has a rotating stock of 150 different wines from all over the world. They have wines for every price point and taste preference, whether you’re headed to West Bay Beach for the day with some friends or trying to impress at a dinner party. Roatan’s new Wine Room was well worth the trip from Calabash Bight, at the far east end of the island to west end. We tasted a beautiful crisp Prosecco and liked it so much that we took a cold bottle to lunch! The Wine Room has an excellent selection of wine that up until now have not been available here. I highly recommend Lauren and her staff at the Wine Room, they will be happy to help you select the perfect wine for any occasion and will also do special orders. Vacation rentals offer a glimpse into reality in a different place. You may wish to stay in a vacation rental on Roatan so you can get a real feel for island living – especially if you’re considering buying real estate on the island. Understand the pros and cons, the opportunities and the limitations, before you jump into homeownership.

I am often asked about the best way to get to the International Airport on Roatan (RTB).

From Toronto and Montreal: Air Transat and Sunwing (seasonal) 
From Miami and Dallas: American 
From Miami: Cayman Airways with one stop 
From Atlanta: Delta 
From Houston: United 
From Belize City: Tropic Airlines 
From San Salvador: Avianca Air

All of the above have certain days of the week that they fly to RTB, though most all fly on weekends. Untied flies to Roatan the most days of the week though there are daily flights to San Pedro Sula on the mainland of Honduras with several connecting flights with regional airlines like CM & SOSA.

Real Estate Trends 
Overall, the total volume of sales on the island is almost the same as last year, though last year was the best year the bay Islands had seen in over ten years. Overall values are increasing on the island, and I believe that values will continue on an upward trend for sometime to come. This is prevalent in the sales of vacant land, which had been depressed for years. There are more developer inquires than there has been for years, and that is all part of the entire supply and demand scenario in that there is a considerable shortage in residential properties, especially single family homes. If you are looking to purchase for retirement or investment (some are doing this with U.S. IRA accounts) I personally believe, that if you know that you want to have your piece of paradise and wish to plan ahead, land is a very good way to go.
