This annular solar eclipse is fully visible in Roatán. Observers there can experience the “ring of fire” that is characteristic for this kind of solar eclipse. This is a rare and spectacular event that can only be experienced along a relatively narrow strip on the Earth’s surface. The eclipse is also visible in other areas, but the Moon does not move centrally in front of the Sun there and the “ring of fire” is not visible.

Avianca is launching new nonstop flights to the gateway of Honduras’ Caribbean coast: San Pedro Sula. On Dec. 11, the Colombian carrier will be launching a new nonstop route between New York and San Pedro Sula, with flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. San Pedro Sula, set on the edge of the country’s Caribbean coast, is also an easy hub for a short flight to Roatan, another popular Caribbean destination in Honduras.
