Mail delivery -From your old home to your new home

Honduras actually has a mail delivery system and on the mainland
they actually have addresses in many places. Not so much here in the Bay Islands.  You actually can mail something from the U.S. or Canada and address it something like ‘Joe Smith’, Fosters, West Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras and ‘Joe’ would probably get it. You actually can address an envelop ‘Mark Smith, Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras, Central America.  It could take as little as a couple of weeks and as long s a couple of months and you could go to the Post Office in Coxen Hole every few days and see if it has arrived. If they knew you were checking they would hold it there for you.

The ‘flip side’?  There are other services here than can help assist when you need it. In reality that service has been need far less over the years with the ability to obtain financial statements, greeting cards and emails, but it is still there. I just received a pair of glasses that were repaired by lens crafters actually. Can I buy glasses here? Sure I can, it is just the ones I had I had bought there and they were under warrantee so I have them fixed there and shipped to me.

Personally I use RAS Express –         http://www.rasxpress.com/
They are located very close to the airport and you can obtain a U.S. address there which takes your mail from the U.S. or other places, ships it to ‘your address’ in Miami, where it is forwarded to you here on Roatan.
