Happy Thanksgiving!

The people of the Bay Islands now have as many relatives often in the Cayman Islands and Belize as they do here. Trading, including fishing, shrimp and lobster, generated strong relationships with the U.S. with generations of Islanders being born, educated and living in the states.

This coming week we celebrate U.S. Thanksgiving on Thursday like you do. Here of course it is not a National Holiday, but among the U.S. foreigner community, and in many of the restaurants on the island, there will be plenty of Turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie this Thursday as there was for Canadian Thanksgiving at the beginning of this month.

For hundreds of years the Bay islands has had a close relationship with the United States and Canada and at this point that still is the case.

We wish you a wonderful day. We all have much to be thankful for and this is the perfect day of the year to reflect upon that.
