Honduran authorities are moving forward with plans to expand Roatán International Airport, which serves the Bay Islands area off the northern coast. The total remodeling of the existing airport, one domestic and one international terminal, the expansion of the runway for aircraft and vehicle parking area and resurfacing of the runway. The mayor of Roatán, Ronnie McNab, said US$18mn will be invested in the works.
