United Airlines Direct from Denver, Colorado. United Airlines announced an additional service direct to Roatan, Honduras from Denver International Airport beginning mid-December. The inaugural Honduras flight will take off on Dec. 18 and will be offered each Saturday. The announcement builds upon the airline’s expansion into Central America and other warm-weather destinations from the airport, as it has added services this year. Website

Drivers license in Roatan – Revision. 
This informational contribution was graciously provided by an American who is a Honduran resident. Go to Banco Atlantida: tell them “I want to pay for my first-time driver’s license”. Get 2 self-photos, 2×2” from Foto store in Coxen Hole. Then across from the Los Fuertes Police station: see sign for “examen de licencia”. Go there to get your physical for your license. The cost is about $35. This is paid directly to the examiner there. Then go to the Los Fuertes Police station to take the written exam on the day that it is scheduled. Take a knowledgeable interpreter with you that can tell you how to write your answers in Spanish. Make sure that you take your bank receipt, physical document and 2 photos. If you pass the written exam, you will be taking the driving test in the afternoon. This consists of backing up into a parking spot in the parking area of the police station. Practice this using only your rear-view mirror, or your back up camera. You may not hit the blue and white striped traffic cones that they have set up on either side of the parking space or at the rear (which you cannot see if you are just using your rear-view mirror, and make sure you are pretty much in the middle of the parking space).
