Intro –Roatan & Utila Real Estate . I am sorry this is late this month. I have had a lot on my plate with both real estate, what has been going on , on the islands and personal. This month’s version will be a bit shorter than normal and because of the late date and a whole lot upcoming here that needs to be done in the next two months, I am unsure if there will be a November and December or just a ‘combo’ Holiday publication upcoming. Business Information and New Website-Last summer, I conducted a survey in which I asked newsletter subscribers what information they would like to see in this monthly newsletter. The results were eye opening. Most readers stated they wanted more information on island life: local businesses, government entities, and special events. Knowing the type of information readers wanted encouraged me to put a project I was working on in high gear. In three weeks a new website called “The Total Information Location” is set to launch. In addition to exciting real estate options, this website will also contain information on local restaurants, dive shops, things to do, local and national government contacts, churches, and charities. Through this new website, I will profile businesses, events, and organizations. When complete, The “Total Information Location” will provide more information on the Bay Islands than any other website. Look for an upcoming email containing a link to the new site. HGTVAs mentioned in previous newsletters, the Bay Islands, have received a considerable amount of attention from a variety of media outlets over the last year. One of the outlets, which have been highlighting the islands is the popular Home & Garden Television. RE/MAX has been in more HGTV shows than almost all other real estate companies combined. Recently, he and two other Agents from our company, Stephane Chevalier, also on Roatan, and Julie Shigetomi, on Utila, have also been part of this popular television station broadcasts. New U.S. Cruise OptionRecently I shared that the Bay Islands is getting “cruisers” who reach the islands via cruise ship to investigate possible retirement, relocation, and vacation ownership options. The horrible aftermath from hurricanes in the eastern Caribbean is creating a great deal of rerouting of those ships to Roatan and various locations in the West. If you have been thinking about visiting Roatan on an upcoming cruise, this year will probably offer you both more options and better prices. Below is the announcement regarding a new website which contains options that may be more convenient for you than Florida or Texas. Utila News -Shipping Company + a New and Welcome Restaurant!Island Shipping has added Utila to their freight services between Roatan, Guanaja and the north coast ports of La Ceiba, Puerto Cortes, Puerto Lempira and Cauquira. In addition, Island Shipping now has their own dock and depot in Utila, near the Utila Municipal dock, which can handle containers up to 40 feet in size. Also, the first air-conditioned bar in Utila Town Center is now open. Step In Bar & Grill is the first air-conditioned bar/restaurant to open in Utila Town Center.
